ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ
In May 715, the troops of the Opsikion theme, sent to Rhodes in order to confront the Arab fleet, rebelled against Byzantine emperor Anastasios II. The rebels proclaimed tax collector Theodosios emperor in Adramyttion and sailed towards Constantinople. Anastasios fled to Nicaea of Bithynia. In November 715, the rebels conquered Constantinople and forced Anastasios to surrender. |
